Both my parents smoked. My Dad quit after pneumonia put him in the hospital when he was in his 40s. My Mom had cancer and quit … but it was several years later. She told me later than even 2 years after she quit, she still dreamed about smoking. She’d been smoking since she was a teen. I hope people heed your message, Arindam – for their own good health.
Love the image and the sentiment. I think smoking is much more prevalent in your country than in mine. (Thank heavens. It used to be bad here, but a combination of laws and anti-smoking campaigns have helped a lot.)
No I thinks it’s quite similar in both the countries. Just like your country, now most of the states in our country has banned smoking in public places. But I am not sure how much is it helping the cause or not!
The second hardest decision I ever made in life was to stop smoking. I had smoked for more than forty years and it took three months to wean myself off cigarettes. It took more than two years to lose the desire for a cigarette.

Sigh.. I have been saying the same words to certain people for years. It hasn’t helped. Plus, the thought of my son getting older and falling into the same traps scares me. But its comforting to see the new emphasis on no-smoking ad’s they show in movie halls. Good to see one here too.
Yes I do not think words from others hardly helps the cause. Many people have waster thousands of their words beofre I realized it by my own. π I am sure your son is not going to fall in to the same traps. After all you are there to take care of him and make sure he will not fall in to these! I’ve a feeling you are a strict mother. π
it is a nasty habit that messes up your health and those around you…but if people like messing with it, well, all you can do is wish them well and hope one day the light turns on upstairs in their head. π

Arindam! Would people put dirty oil in the vehicle they have to rely on everyday? Why smoke?

Yes Judy. It’s a message that holds much of importance. I am glad that both your parents could quit it. Thanks for sharing.
