Awards Night!

Before starting the award ceremony let me request you all that-

  • If you have tomatoes and eggs in your pockets; which I am sure you must have with you, in order to throw at me, after hearing that I am going to host it. And I know, you people are confident that, I can’t entertain you with my words. So I request you, rather than throwing them at me during the award ceremony; give them on my hands once it will get over. I love eggs and tomatoes and I can’t see them lying on ground that to be broken and smashed.
  • Do not laugh seeing that I have added every tag possible in this post, including tomato, egg & back pain . I did so, Because I want to invite everyone to this grand ceremony. I know you people are thinking that, I have a really big heart. I will agree with you on that.

Before giving the awards, let me share a personal experience with you. Since yesterday I am having a severe back pain. As I always love to analyze things, I thought, why did this happen? I have not been in ring with Mike Tyson since a long time; neither I pulled the train from its track since past few weeks. Then Why? At last, I reached to the conclusion why did this happen? Actually from past few days, weeks, months I am holding on to some awards, which I need to pass on to others. So may be back pain occurred due to that extra baggage on me. So since yesterday, I am walking like I am 7-8months pregnant. Hey you dirty intelligent people, do not use your intelligence here. Science in my part of world has not reached to that level yet; neither I have any intention to be the first man of my country to do so. It’s only due to that back pain. So I am in no mood to walk with the extra baggage anymore; so let me pass on them to you; and help you walk like a pregnant lady. :)

Here we go—————- flash light on: music starts:

(In my country whenever a man starts his speech specially politicians, they greet everyone with a line, “Bhai aur beheno” (It means Brothers and sister); but as I am different, so since my childhood I never start a speech in that manner; if I will consider each lady to be my sister; then who will be my girlfriend or wife. After all I am not a good looking boy(Although I am short of few inches to be a six feet tall person, and I am few kg less than normal weight for a man of my age, i.e 65kgs), whose relationship status since birth is “single” and not to forget, I am very hopeless romantic. so it will not suit my personality.

But, yes politicians of my country can tell that- as they are really the perfect example of family men. Because they care for their family so much and they earn that much money through corruption that, their next 10 generations can live with that, without earning anything.)

So let me start the speech in my own unique way-

Ladies &  Gentlemen,
Brothers and their sisters,
Girls and their brothers,

here come the night you are not waiting for. You got it right, my dearest people, you people will not feel appreciated, with in next few minutes of your lives. Today I present you the grand ceremony of blogging awards 2012. So hold on to your seats, pull the seat belt, close the door and enjoy the ride for next few minutes; and if you do not have any seat available for you; then find a person who can carry your weight for next few minutes. But as this award ceremony is hosted by a Indian boy; so it’s going to be in Indian style. I hope you will not mind it.

At last, the day came for which you were not waiting since your birth. So with without wasting few more minutes, let me announce the name of the winner of those awards; but let me clear that, It will not give you a trophy, nor few million dollars, nor space in tomorrow newspaper’s front page. It will give you; “Nothing” except my love for you all and it may help you in realizing that, you people hold lots of importance in my life.

  1. You are a most gracious host! I love the first song. What is that instrument he was playing? The movie clips were from one of my favorites. And the dance group was outstanding! Incredible talent.

Love the way you presented this. What an honor to all the awardees. Thank-you!! And congrats to you. They are much deserved.

    • Thanks a lot Angelia. and a big congrats to you.
The instrumentation of that first song consists of nadaswaram, shehnai, saxophone, urumee and thavil drums, acoustic guitar and keyboards mixed with electronic synths and scratches.
The movie clips are from the movie 127 hours.
I am glad that you liked the concept of this post. Best wishes to you.

  9. Hello Arindam,
Congratulations on getting all those awards in such a short period. :-)

I loved your spectacular award show. What an honour for me to be nominated with all these wonderful blogs and bloggers. Shukriyaa

by the way I was very disappointed that in the USA we aren’t permitted to watch the first song. When I clicked on it I got this message: “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.”

The “Prince dance group” is fantastic. Amazing that – except for Krishna – they are all construction workers not dancers. But I’m frustrated-hai that I couldn’t understand what the judges or Krishna said even though they all dropped an English word here and there.

    • Thank you. :)
It was all my pleasure to include your blog in this list. We all know, how much effort you insert while creating your posts.
I will try to upload that same video, with another link. So that you can watch. I hope, i will find that one soon.
Yes, Prince dance group is simply outstanding. You can watch their other performance on YouTube. They did a performance on Lord Krishna; which was beautiful. I am sure you will enjoy that one too. Yes While posting those videos, I was also thinking about the same. But as I had no other option, so I went with this one. I can only tell you that, those judges told the same things which you and some other comment givers mentioned in their comments.
Thanking a lot for sharing your thoughts here. It really feels nice to know what you people think about these people. :)

  10. Thanks very much Arindam for the One Lovely Blog Award. Congrats to all fellow nominees and most especially to you for all those awards.

Thanks again and have a great day! :)

  11. Arindam, you just gave me more of India. Many, many thanks for this fabulous presentation.

So you see…you obviously deserve all of these awards you’ve been given. A huge congratulations. I know this took a great deal of time…I wish you honours in all your studies since I’m sure we took you away from them! :D

Most of the videos brought tears to my eyes…especially the last one. And the one with the recycled instruments. I googled Kolaveri di – “Why did you do this to me”. I knew it was a sad song, but wanted to know what made it sad. I am impressed that he’s singing what came to his mind and heart at the time.

You’ve shown your tender and loving soul, Arindam. I hope that we hang around the blogosphere together long enough that I see a photo of the young woman who will come to spend the rest of her life with this special romantic we know as YOU!

Many thanks for my Kreativ Blogger Award. I will set it up so that when anyone clicks on it, they will come to you.

    • Yes you are absolutely right it took a lot of time. But now it’s not a big problem, as now a days I am having only one new post in my blog every week. So Now I am spending free times of a whole week, in creating something; which I feel is good enough to post.

I am glad that, these videos spoke to you in such a way. Let me tell you, when for the first time, I watched these videos on television, my eyes were also wet. But these people are really inspiration for all of us. They started their journey from small villages and having everything against them; but at last their talent got the recognition. So they are the people who make me believe that, yes dreams can also be reality; if we will give it our heart and soul.
And talking about ,”Kolaveri di”. Even this I do not have much idea about theis language. This part is written in “Tamil”, a local language of India. It got highest number of hits on you tube. And you are absolutely right, this song is about, the boys who betrayed by girls. But it’s in fun mood.

Thank you for being so kind to me. By the way you got it wrong; I am not that much romantic. But sure, I will let you know, when that young woman who will come to spend her rest of life with me. :) But I do not think it will happen soon. :)
Thank you for this beautiful comment & all the beautiful wishes.

  22. I am very much honored to have been invited and presented an award to this prestigious award-giving ceremony. To the host, Arindam. Thank you and might I just add that the likes of Hugh Jackman and other awarding ceremonies hosts should be ashamed because you have just outdone them. The intermission numbers were amazing. Bravo!

    • Thanks a lot Addie. Actually, I feel honored that, I could pass on this award to you. Your blog is the simplest blog I ever came across. You always focus on those small things of day to day life which really hold lots of importance in each person’s life. And it is the toughest job to do so. And you do that so brilliantly. So keep on doing the great work. I wish you all the happiness in the world.
Lastly, I am really glad that, you enjoyed the ceremony, which I created by words. I know I am not better than Hugh Jackman; but I am going to take this complement, as it is the biggest complement I could ever get in my whole life. :) You really made my day, with these kind words. A big congrats to you.

  23. First of all…Congratulations to you. You have been a busy blogger raking in all of those awards. And well deserved – Bravo!

As for the Hug Award – I love it and accept it with acknowledgement that it is my first ‘hug’ from India. Thank you.

The award ceremony itself is worthy of an award and I thinking about starting one myself that gives recognition to an award recipient who goes out of the way to throw such a party. Wow. Well done.

  24. Thank you Renee. :) I still remember, the support you gave me through your words, when I just started blogging. You never let me quit this field; so today if what ever appreciation & recognition I am getting for my blog; it all due to you and all belong to you. No award can do justice to show my respect for you.
If you could be the first person from outside India, who visited this young boy’s blog and shown your complete faith on him and also made him feel more and more special with each passing day; then I feel really proud knowing that, that boy could give you the first hug from India. :)

You will always remain the “most welcome” guest in this small world of “Being Arindam”. :)

      • Ow. It’s a song by Alanis Morissettes … the lines starts from Thank You India … Then another song by Dido … starting from And I … I want to …. Both songs are titled “Thank You”.

And then I added the famous last words at the end.

So I went for it. I am glad you enjoyed this post. Best wishes to you and your blog. A big congrats to you!

  31. Kya baat hai..!
You seem inspired by the numerous award ceremonies happening in our country right now. In fact, they are showing one of them on the TV tonight. Umang Awards, I think they are called. You know you could send that political joke to SRK, since he is hosting all the possible film award shows this year!

Congratulations to you and thank you for the kind nomination.

    • Thank you. You are most welcome. :)
It really difficult for me to mention you in my comments, as I do not want to mention you with AIT, just as everyone else is doing. :)

Actually I had a dream to host a live show. Although I performed on stage during my engineering days, but I never hosted any of them. So I tried to fulfill that wish of mine, through words with this post. Yes, one of my friend is waiting for that award show. :) But I am not sure if it’s Umang Award. But I am not a big follower of these awards ceremonies; as I am a huge fan of Aamir Khan and he does not believe in these awards. :)

    • You are welcome Jude. Thanks a lot for the wishes. You do have a really nice blog. I am looking forward to visit your blog again and again. My best wishes to you and your blog. :)

    • Namaste Isadora,
Thank you for these kind words. I really like your blog, because you always bring something different to the blogosphere with your each new post. Your blog deserves this award.
