Yes I am still alive!

1

When I stand in front of the mirror and see my face with the expression I want to see on it; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When I stand under the blue sky and see birds flying over my head; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When sun’s scattered rays falls on me and feels my heart, body & soul with warmth; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When the waves of the sea come & go touching my feet; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When I am alone & silent, and my heartbeat speaks to me & my breath makes its presence feel; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When I want to let those words out which I kept in me from a long time, which may bring those people close to me whom I want by my side but my ego does not allow me to do so; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When it’s dark, the moon rises and I see someone’s face in it; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When I come out of my thought & I can’t see that someone anywhere closer to me; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When I get hurt & I feel that my eyes are wet; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When my inner sense gives me a feeling that it’s reprehensible what i am doing and stops me; then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When i gather enough courage in me to fight against something or someone, which or whom my heart judge as wrong, then I realize that, “yes I am alive”.

When I achieve something great, and make others feel my existence  in this earth; then I realize that, “yes I am still alive”…..

  1. A profound , meaningful post on what it is to feel alive and how to live it. So wise for someone so young. I’m happy for you that you try to savor the good things and events in life…..that’s a secret to happiness. Best wishes to you and your family.

    • Thanks a lot IT. :)
By the way i not only try to savor the good things & events in life, but bad things & events also. But i hope not many people love to read those things in blogs. So I kept them for my first novel.
Best wishes to you & your family too. You must be having a wonderful holiday season. :)

  2. What a great thing to post about, Arindam. I enjoyed your list very much.

I think this reason spoke to me the most, “When I want to let those words out which I kept in me from a long time, which may bring those people close to me whom I want by my side but my ego does not allow me to do so; then I realize that, ‘yes I am alive’.”

I’m not sure I fully understand it… But either speaking, or refraining from speaking to people with whom you are close is one of the biggest challenges I can imagine. So much is at stake, when you share with someone close to you. Can you tell me more what you meant by that line?

    • Thanks a lot Melissa :)

Melissa, As always again you mentioned my most favorite line in this one. I will be more than happy to describe more about that one for you.

Actually it means, that in this journey of life i have lost some people, who were close to me due to either misunderstanding or they thought that i did something wrong with them, although i never did. Still i know i can bring them back in my life with the help of few words, explaining them that it was not my fault or by saying them sorry for what ever i did.

But my ego does not let me do so, as i do not feel there is any point in saying sorry if i do not really feel so from heart, because i have not done anything wrong to that person for which i’d be sorry. So if that person whom i considered very close to me at some point of time, could not understand me, then why i’d make that person realize that. My ego does not allow me to make someone feel that i really need that person in this journey of life, if he/she does not feel my need.

I hope u got it now. If not, then i am ready to simplify this statement more for you. :) And lots of other post of mine are also waiting for yours comment. I hope they will get their worth from you very soon. :)

      • As they say, and I do believe this, time heals all wounds. I’ve parted ways with friends before, only to rejoin them years later — both of us a little stronger and a little wiser. I wish the same thing for your future.

On the same note, I’ve parted ways with friends before, never to rejoin. Sometimes people just… change. And there is no need to mend the fences. It wouldn’t work, even if you tried.

        Thanks for the thought-provoking post.

      • You are too good with this one Melissa. Your every word has something deep meaning in it. The feeling of reading your post & comments is always different. Every thing you wrote above is so true & meaningful.
